Welcome! I am an assistant professor of political science at Campbellsville University. I teach courses on international relations and comparative politics.
My main research agenda focuses on the development of political institutions. In my dissertation project, I study whether foreign aid hinders or undermines the development of political institutions via its influence on tax compliance. Please see the Dissertation page of this website for more on this project.
In my ongoing projects, I am interested in the coordination of development assistance at the international and sub-national levels, as well as political violence and efforts to eliminate it through peace-building. For examples of my published work on military intervention, peacebuilding, and sub-national political violence, please see the Samples of Work page.
In addition to my quantitative training, I have conducted field research in several African countries including Burundi, Malawi, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
For further information on my background, please consult my CV page. Do not hesitate to contact me if I can answer any questions. Thank you!
Sincerely, Josiah F. Marineau
